Dr. Madnani performs his Facelifts in the AAASF accredited operating rooms in both NYC & Long Island offices without the use of general anesthesia. This affords a quicker and more comfortable recovery with less down time. Incisions are placed in natural creases in the hairline or around the ear lobe, depending on the specific techniques to be used.
Through the incisions, Dr. Madnani removes excess skin and treats underlying muscles and tissue (SMAS layer) using a variety of techniques, repositioning the underlying muscles and skin structure to achieve a younger, natural look. Skin is repositioned over the new facial contours and excess skin removed before incisions are sutured closed. Facelifts typically take between one to two hours to complete, depending on the number of areas to be addressed.
After the procedure, a dressing is placed which is changed within 24-48 hrs. Discomfort is common for the first day or two and can be managed with oral pain medication. Most patients will experience relief from discomfort within 48 hours. Dr. Madnani’s patients are usually considered presentable and ‘restaurant ready’ 7-10 days after the procedure.
Results of a facelift can usually be seen once the surgical area begins to heal. Skin will appear firmer, with fewer fine lines and wrinkles. You will also see a more youthful facial contour, as the neck and jawline are much better defined. These results are long-lasting; with most patients enjoying results for many years.
